This metric is part of the Education-to-Workforce (E-W) Indicator Framework, specifically “Outcomes and milestones” which pertain to key outcomes and milestones along the E-W continuum that are strongly associated with individuals achieving economic mobility and security.
This metric (Percentage of classrooms demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions, as measured by observational assessments) is a measurement for a key indicator, “(Indicator: Inclusive environments),” and measures whether individuals feel that they belong and feel connected to their peers in their schools.
Pre-K - Percentage of classrooms demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions, as measured by observational assessments
Calculating a Response:
Use the following CEDS elements to determine the school year for which the data will be measured:
1. Early Learning Program Year = most recent school year, representing July 1 through June 30
To determine the percentage of classrooms demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions, as measured by observational assessment:
Use the following CEDS elements to determine the total number of Pre-K classrooms:
1. Pull all unique Pre-K classrooms using the Early Learning Class Group Identifier
2. Where the Pre-K classroom:
a. Is associated with a State Education Agency through the Organization Identifier where Has Organization Identification System = SEA and Has Organization Identifier Type = State Education Agency Identifier
Narrow the list to identify which Pre-K classrooms are demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions, as measured by observational assessment using the following CEDS elements:
1. Assessment Identifier or Assessment Short Name or Assessment Title=
a. Assessing Classroom Sociocultural Equity Scale (ACSES), or
b. An assessment of similar degree
2. Assessment Administration Finish Dateis within the Early Learning Program Year
3. Assessment Type= Observation
4. Assessment Level for Which Designed= Prekindergarten
5. Assessment Score Metric Type = Raw score,Scale score, or another defined metric type appropriate to the assessment’s scoring methodology.
6. Assessment Result Score Value ≥ the level established by the organization that is considered demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions, as measured by observational assessments.
Use the following calculation instructions to calculate the percentage of classrooms demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions, as measured by observational assessments:
- Divide the total number of Pre-K classrooms that are demonstrating equitable sociocultural interactions as measured by observational assessments by the total number of Pre-K classrooms.
Multiply by 100.
